Why Choose Us?
True Medical Imaging was opened in 2008 and is one of the premier facilities for wide range medical Imaging. True Medical Imaging is Corpus Christi’s true choice for imaging. We offer top of the line equipment ranging from the Fonar Upright Positional MRI to the 64-Slice PET/CT scanner. We make our patients our top priority by striving to offer the best in care, service and imaging. True Medical Imaging is ACR accredited and in 2008, our sister facility, McAllen MRI Center, was awarded with ACR accreditation as well as the 2008 Best of McAllen award in the Magnetic Resonance Imaging category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USBLA). This is just a glimpse of what we are working toward in Corpus Christi.

Some Nice Things...
As a specialist in pain management, and having referred to MRI Centers for over ten years, I have now seen the revolutionary configuration of the magnet which is what makes Positioning Imaging possible. I could see how this MRI would most certainly help my patients. Providing this service and new technology has the ability to put the patient in the position necessary to provide the most accurate diagnosis. I will now be able to make a far more comprehensive and accurate evaluation of my patients’ conditions, which of course will enable me to prescribe and execute more effective treatment plans. This is my primary reason for purchasing the UPRIGHT MRI
The revolutionary design of FONAR’s Upright MRI alows patients to simply walk in and be scanned. The Upright MRI allows all parts of the body, particularly the spine and joints, to be imaged in the weight bearing state. The system is equipped with our unique MRI-compatible motorized patient handling system that will move the patient into the magnet and place the anatomy of interest into the center of the magnet gap. It is also able to rotate the vertically-oriented patient into a horizontal position so the patient can be scanned lying down just like in the case of a traditional MRI.

How do I prepare for my scan?
Preparations for your imaging appointment will be different depending upon the type of imaging order by your doctor. You may have to stop taking certain medications or have no food or drink the night before your scan. Make sure you check with your doctor before your appointment to make sure we are able to perform your imaging on the day of your appointment.
There are no known harmful effects from the strong magnetic field used for MRI. But the magnet is very powerful. The magnet may affect pacemakers, artificial limbs, and other medical devices that contain iron. The magnet will stop a watch that is close to the magnet. Any loose metal object has the risk of causing damage or injury if it gets pulled toward the strong magnet.
Metal parts in the eyes can damage the retina. If you may have metal fragments in the eye, an X-ray of the eyes may be done before the MRI. If metal is found, the MRI will not be done.
